DHS Will Reconsider Termination of Molina Contracts
The Department of Health Services will re-evaluate its decision last spring not to renew its contracts with Long Beach-based Molina Healthcare to provide health care services for Medi-Cal beneficiaries in Riverside and San Bernardino counties, the Los Angeles Times reports.
DHS in May awarded the contracts to Blue Cross of California, and Molina appealed the decision. The contracts, which cover more then 96,000 members, are valued at $111 million in annual revenue.
Molina officials said it is unclear when DHS will complete the re-evaluation (Vrana, Los Angeles Times, 10/18).
