AB 2375 by Assembly member Edward Hernandez (D-West Covina) would establish a task force to create a master strategy for providing an adequate supply of health care professionals. A bill (SB 1621) by Assembly member Roy Ashburn (R-Bakersfield) was amended to limit eligibility for a state loan assistance program for nursing faculty to people with a bachelor's degree in nursing or a nursing-related field (Bill text, 5/28).
