Sen. Jack Scott (D-Pasadena) amended SB 139 to permit colleges that offer registered nursing programs to waive general education requirements for students who already have a baccalaureate degree (Bill text, 5/2). The measure was withdrawn from the Senate Rules Committee and was referred to the Senate Appropriations Committee (Bill status, 5/3).
