DOWNEY COMMUNITY HOSPITAL: State AG Probes Hospital’s Finances
Downey Community Hospital's finances are under investigation by the state attorney general's office, the Los Angeles Times reports. The month-long probe "follows allegations leveled by former members of the hospital's board of directors" that Downey parent DCH Health Services "misused donations to the hospital by using them to fund insurance and administrative services." Dan Miller, Downey chief administrator, said: "I'm absolutely convinced that they'll come up with nothing because there is nothing. It's probably a blessing in disguise. Maybe this will give more people an opportunity to see that everything's just fine" (6/16).
