Editorial: GOP Not Offering Viable Reform Alternatives
Republicans running for office in California recently have derided the new federal health reform law, but the alternatives they are offering are "no way to expand coverage or improve the quality and efficiency of care," a Los Angeles Times editorial argues. The editorial adds that suggestions by candidates such as Meg Whitman, Carly Fiorina and Tom Campbell to put people with pre-existing conditions into state-run high-risk pools and to not have an individual mandate would have the "adults most in need of health insurance ... pay the most for it."
