Enloe Medical Center Hires Firm To Help Address Financial Problems for Home Health Care Agency
Chico-based not-for-profit Enloe Medical Center has hired Gentiva Health Services to help address financial losses at its home health care agency, which provides at-home care for some patients after their hospital stays, the Chico Enterprise-Record reports. Enloe Home Health Care has lost more than $4 million over the last three years, Ann Prater, Enloe's public relations director, said. Gentiva will help the 140-employee hospital unit with its management and billing, including properly identifying services provided when billing the government, changing the billing of patients and changing the way that services are delivered. Prater said that the hospital does not intend to lay off any employees who work for its home health care agency. Prater added that while Enloe Home Health Care has lost money, the hospital as a whole has been financially successful over the past year (Mitchell, Chico Enterprise-Record, 7/22).
