Federal Agencies Launch Web Site to Provide Information on Quality Reporting Programs
Several federal agencies last Thursday launched TalkingQuality, a Web site developed to help patient advocates, state officials and health benefit managers measure and report on health care quality. The site offers a "step-by-step" plan to develop and implement quality reporting programs, such as health plan report cards. TalkingQuality offers users instructions on collecting and analyzing data, presenting and publishing information and continuously supporting an ongoing quality reporting program. The site also allows users to download a workbook, which they can use to customize quality reporting programs. The Agency for Health Research and Quality, CMS and the Office of Personnel Management established the Web site as part of a larger federal campaign to improve the quality of health care nationwide (AHRQ release, 4/25).
