Feinstein Includes Cancer as Top Priority
Sen. Dianne Feinstein (D-Calif.) on Tuesday listed cancer as one of her top issues if she is re-elected to a third full term in November, the Sacramento Bee reports.
The 73-year-old senator said she would like to pass a cancer act to improve treatment. "I lost my husband, I lost most of my family to cancer," Feinstein said.
Among her other top issues are global warming and gang violence.
Feinstein's Republican opponent, Dick Mountjoy, was a supporter behind Proposition 187, the 1994 ballot measure that would have barred undocumented immigrants from receiving health care and other social service benefits (Lin, Sacramento Bee, 10/18).
