FPA MEDICAL MANAGEMENT: Announces More Closures, This Time In Texas
As part of its plan to pull out of unprofitable markets, FPA Medical Management Inc. "abruptly closed" eight of its offices in the Dallas-Ft. Worth area Friday. The Dallas Morning News reports that the closure of the San Diego-based physician management company's eight University Medical Group offices affects "50 facilities and 300,000 patients in six states" including California. Those most affected by Friday's pull-out are the 15,000 Dallas-Ft. Worth residents who belong to NYLCare Health Plans and receive primary care from University Medical Group (Maxon/Ornstein, 7/13).
