GAO: CMS Overpaid MA Plans by at Least $3.2 Billion
Between 2010 and 2012, Medicare Advantage plans received at least $3.2 billion in overpayments from CMS because the agency inadequately adjusted "risk scores" for beneficiaries in the private plans, according to a Government Accountability Office report. Democrats said the report supports proposed spending reductions in the Medicare Advantage program.
