GENETICS: Is Too Much Information a Bad Thing?
Despite stunning advances in human genetics, fear of discriminatory use of information is discouraging people from availing themselves of predictive tests or participating in research. It is one thing to decline genetic testing because the results are too speculative, it is quite another to fear genetic knowledge because it can be used against you by insurers or employers. In this week's Stryker's Corner California Healthline's Jeff Stryker says this issue needs to be addressed by Congress.
