GOV. DAVIS: Appoints Three HHS Officials
Gov. Gray Davis yesterday announced the appointments of Glen Rosselli as undersecretary, David Maxwell-Jolly as deputy secretary of program and fiscal affairs and Diane Van Maren as associate secretary for policy and planning for the state Health and Human Services Agency. Rosselli is an economic and health policy analyst who served as director of the Medi-Cal Policy Institute, deputy assistant secretary for the United States Treasury Department and economic policy adviser on President Clinton's transition team in 1993. Maxwell-Jolly has been the principal consultant to the California Senate Appropriations Committee, where he provided guidance on health and welfare legislation, and from 1982 to 1986, he served as supervising analyst for the Legislative Analyst's Office. Van Maren has served as senior consultant with the California Senate Budget and Fiscal Review Committee, policy analyst with the Legislative Analyst's Office and associate budget analyst for the Department of Developmental Services. Rosselli and Maxwell-Jolly require state Senate confirmation, while Van Maren does not (Davis release, 7/13).
