GOV. DAVIS: Signs Health Care Bills
Gov. Gray Davis announced Friday that he has signed three health- related bills passed by the Legislature. They are:
- SB 737 (Senate Committee on Insurance): Conforms state law to federal regulations by providing that an eligible employee for small employer health insurance who has declined coverage during a previous enrollment period may enroll themselves and their dependents when a person becomes a dependent of the eligible employee through marriage, birth or adoption.
- AB 253 (Helen Thomson D-Davis): Requires applicants for licensure as marriage and family therapists to complete graduate coursework in psychological testing and psychopharmacology.
- AB 1433 (Brett Granlund R-Yucaipa): Clarifies language from a previous bill that required certain health care practitioners to wear a name tag showing their credentials (Davis releases, 9/17).
