Governor Signs Bill Targeting Prison Health Care Costs
On Thursday, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) signed into law AB 1985, by Assembly member Cathleen Galgiani (D-Livingston), which requires California Prison Health Care Services to streamline and track claims paid to contract health care providers. The law is expected to save at least $5 million to $10 million, according to a news release.
