GRAY DAVIS: Appoints New DHS Deputy Director of Medical Services
Gov. Gray Davis (D) recently appointed Gail Margolis to the position of deputy director of medical services of the Department of Health Services. In that capacity, Margolis will be responsible for developing, promoting and implementing health care delivery systems for Medi-Cal beneficiaries. Margolis also will oversee operations of the department's Medical Care Services organization. Margolis, an attorney, previously served as the corporate vice president and general counsel for Daniel Freeman Hospitals where she also served as vice president of professional services (Office of the Governor release, 5/26).
