Group Finds Little Progress in Hospital Patient Safety Events
Nearly one million Medicare beneficiaries experienced a patient safety event between 2006 and 2008, resulting in more than 99,000 deaths and costing nearly $8.9 billion, according to a new patient safety study from HealthGrades. The report also found that the number of injured patients has remained at roughly the same level in recent years.
