Harris Poll Finds 97 Million Adults Seek Health Information Online
Nearly 97 million adults use the Internet to access health information, a Harris Poll released today reports. Of the 675 adult Internet users surveyed, 75% said they go online to find health information. Of those who do access health information online, the poll found that 52% use a search engine or portal, while 24% go directly to a health Web site, and 16% access a general site that may have a section on health issues. Adults who look for health information online do so on average 3.3 times per month. The poll has a 4-point margin of error (Harris Poll release, 4/18).
