Health Care Costs
Sen. Tom Torlakson (D-Antioch) is backing a measure (SB 137) that would raise the income eligibility level for a program administered by the Department of Health Services that provides services to children with disabilities. Under the bill, income eligibility would increase from $40,000 annually to $80,000 annually or 300% of the federal poverty level monthly (Bill text, 3/21). The Senate Appropriations Committee is considering the bill (Bill status, 3/21).This is part of the California Healthline Daily Edition, a summary of health policy coverage from major news organizations.
