Health care providers are pursuing different approaches to social media as they seek to engage with patients and other physicians and relay useful health messages to the public. Some providers use personal accounts on social media websites like Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn to engage with patients. However, other physicians are concerned that such communication could jeopardize patient privacy and blur professional boundaries.
