Health Insurance Hotline To Expand Nationwide
A program to help people secure health insurance will expand its hotline to all 50 states, the Fresno Bee reports. The California Uninsured Help Line currently is available only in California.
Cynthia Downing, president and CEO of the call center that staffs the hotline, said operators by May 31 will begin processing calls from 13 additional states.
Phil Lebherz, a San Jose-based insurance broker and the founder of the program, expects the program to be available for residents all 50 states by fall 2006.
Hotline operators are available to help small businesses or individuals identify health insurance options using a database of health insurance options for each state (Pollock, Fresno Bee, 5/16).
