HEALTH NET: Shuffles Members In San Mateo And Marin Counties
Health Net is moving nearly 6,000 patients in Marin and San Mateo counties from "one of its largest health plans" into some of its other plans. As the state's largest network-model HMO, Health Net "said the move is primarily aimed at connecting those patients to a larger network of physicians." The San Francisco Business Times reports that the move will mostly "be a matter of paperwork," because 93% of the San Mateo enrollees and 79% of the Marin members already see doctors covered by the other plans. Health Net will help members whose doctors are not included in the other plans to find new primary care physicians (Bole, 7/27 issue).
