HEALTH TV: Contra Costa Health Dept. Sponsors Award-Winning Show
San Ramon Regional Medical Center's call-in television program "Ask the Doctor" won first place for live programming at the Bay Area Cable Excellence awards last week, the Contra Costa Times reports. The Contra Costa Health Services Department-sponsored show, which in the past has "dealt with heart disease prevention, back pain and breast cancer," is hosted by Dr. Robert Litman, a charter member of the National Association of Physician Broadcasters. Also a winner of a 1998 Western Access Video Excellence award for live programing and a finalist for the Telly Awards, "Ask the Doctor" airs from 6:30-7 pm on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month on cable channel 19 in Danville, Alamo and Blackhawk, and channel 30 in San Ramon, with rebroadcasts "throughout the month" (5/25).
