Healthy Families
AB 1851 by Assembly member Joe Coto (D-San Jose) would eliminate Jan. 1, 2006, as the inoperative date for a law that allows a health, dental or vision plan participating in the Healthy Families program to provide application assistance directly to an applicant under certain conditions, including when government agencies, schools or school districts refer the applicant for assistance. If Gov. Schwarzenegger signs the bill, it would become effective immediately (Bill text, 8/17).
