HHS to Launch New Spanish-Language Consumer Health Portal
HHS on Friday will launch healthfinder7 español, a new, Spanish-language version of the department's online consumer health information service. The service is intended to provide the country's Spanish-speaking population with reliable health information similar to that found on the original healthfinder site, including disease-specific resources and topics related to prevention, wellness and alternative medicine. Healthfinder also includes an online medical dictionary and information about providers, dentists, public clinics, hospitals, long term care, nursing homes, health insurance, prescriptions, Medicare and Medicaid. The new service will be unveiled by HHS Deputy Secretary Claude Allen at the Washington, D.C.-based Mary's Center for Maternal and Child Care, which helped create healthfinder7 español (HHS release, 9/25).
