Hospitals
AB 2207 by Assembly member Ted Lieu (D-Torrance) was amended to require hospitals to have a plan for caring for more patients during flu season. The bill also requires hospitals to assess the condition of their emergency departments every three hours and calculate and record a score based on specific standards. The new requirements would take effect in 2010 (Bill text, 4/22). The Assembly Appropriations Committee is considering the bill (Bill status, 4/22).
