Hospitals
AB 113 by Assembly member Jim Beall (D-San Jose) would require that hospitals give at least 180 days notice before planning to reduce or eliminate emergency medical services. Existing law requires at least 90 days notice (Bill Text, 1/8).
Assembly member Patty Berg (D-Santa Rosa) introduced AB 106, which would require general acute care hospitals to offer immunizations for influenza and pneumoccocal disease to patients ages 65 and older. Hospitals would be required to make the vaccines available to patients before discharge between Oct. 1 and April 1 of each year (Bill Text, 1/4).
