Hospitals in L.A. County Applaud Response to Train Collision
Los Angeles County's new plan to airlift patients to hospitals throughout the county won widespread praise after Friday's Metrolink crash in Chatsworth, the Los Angeles Times reports.
Victims were airlifted from the crash site to emergency departments at facilities including:
- Cedars-Sinai Medical Center near West Hollywood;
- County-USC Medical Center in Boyle Heights;
- Providence Holy Cross Medical Center in Mission Hills; and
- Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center in Westwood.
The plan is intended to ensure that patients receive proper care while avoiding overcrowding a single hospital ED (Engel/Connell, Los Angeles Times, 9/14).
