ICOC Member Resigns
Independent Citizens' Oversight Committee member Gayle Wilson on Wednesday announced her resignation from the committee, the Sacramento Bee reports.
Wilson, the wife of former Gov. Pete Wilson (R), cited time constraints as her reason for leaving, according to California Institute for Regenerative Medicine spokesperson Nicole Pagano. Wilson issued a statement saying she would continue to advise the panel on legislative matters.
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) appointed Wilson to the 29-member panel, and he has the authority to appoint a replacement from the commercial life science industry (Mecoy, Sacramento Bee, 1/5).
