Insurers Gave $56K to Dem Voting ‘No’ on Single-Payer
A report from MAPLight.org indicates that Sen. Lou Correa (D-Santa Ana) received $56,000 in campaign contributions from health insurers and HMOs in the 2006-2008 election cycle. Correa was the lone Democrat to break party ranks and vote against SB 810, which would lay the groundwork for a single-payer health care system in California.
