Integrated Healthcare Association Names Two Health Plan Executives to Board
The Integrated Healthcare Association, a statewide coalition of health plans, physician groups and health care systems, last week announced the appointment of Santa Clara Family Health Plan CEO Leona Butler and Cigna HealthCare of California Inc. President Bud Volberding to the IHA board. Santa Clara Family Health Plan helped to "solidify" Medi-Cal and Healthy Families and will administer the county's Healthy Kids program, which will provide health insurance to low-income children who do not qualify for Medi-Cal or Healthy Families. Volberding, who in the past has served as president and CEO of United HealthCare of California and MetraHealth of California, heads Cigna's West Coast operations. He oversees health insurance policies for more than 1.5 million residents in California, Oregon and Washington state (IHA release, 3/7).
