Judge Postpones Hearing on Legality of UC Nurse Strike
Sacramento Superior Court Judge Loren McMaster has postponed until Aug. 25 a hearing on the legality of a nursing strike at University of California teaching hospitals, the Sacramento Bee reports (Kasler, Sacramento Bee, 8/12).
McMaster last month issued a temporary restraining order to stop a planned California Nurses Association strike at five UC teaching hospitals.
The Public Employment Relations Board on July 19 filed a complaint in Sacramento Superior Court seeking a temporary restraining order to prevent CNA members from carrying out the one-day strike.
The issue was brought to PERB by UC officials.
The hearing also will review contract talks (California Healthline, 7/21).
