KAISER PERMANENTE: Former Officer to Start E-Health Site
Helen Wilmot, who was instrumental in improving the financial situation of Kaiser Permanente Northern California, is spearheading a new health Web site that aims to match payers and providers over the Internet, the San Francisco Business Times reports. Located at www.eHealthcontracts.com, the site will become operational in the fall. Wilmot and her partners are saying little about their venture, except that they hope to "improve the contracting process for health care services, creating a marketplace where services could be bought and sold." For insurers, the site offers contract and payment tracking services, while providers can use tools to help them determine the revenue generated by payer contracts. Wilmot left Kaiser Permanente late last year. (Robinson, 5/29).
