Kaiser Permanente Income, Enrollment on the Rise
Kaiser Permanente on Thursday announced that net income for the first quarter of 2007 increased by almost 56% from the same period a year earlier, the Sacramento Business Journal reports.
Net income for the first quarter of 2007 was $698 million, compared with $448 million in 2006. Operating income for the quarter was $521 million on revenue of $9.4 billion.
Spending on capital projects decreased to $531 million for the first quarter of 2007 from $661 million in the period for 2006.
Membership increased by 40,000 to about 8.7 million (Robertson, Sacramento Business Journal, 5/4).
