Kaiser Permanente To Award $19M in Grants for Community Care
On Tuesday, Kaiser Permanente announced that it has approved $19 million in third-quarter grants for initiatives that strive to improve health care access, education and quality, the San Francisco Business Times reports.
The grants include $5.7 million for programs that aim to bolster California's community clinics, public hospitals and other safety-net facilities that provide care for the state's vulnerable populations.
Kaiser said its latest round of grants will build on the $24 million the health system awarded through 1,100 grants during the first half of 2009 (Rauber, San Francisco Business Times, 10/27).
