Kaiser, VA Team Up To Share Electronic Records in San Diego County
Today, officials from the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Kaiser Permanente are scheduled to announce a pilot program that will link their electronic health record systems for eligible members in San Diego County, the San Diego Union-Tribune reports.
Kaiser spokesperson Casey Hart said letters would go out to eligible patients this week seeking permission for Kaiser and VA to exchange the patients' medical information.
The program is slated to launch in mid-December (Darcé, San Diego Union-Tribune, 11/25). This is part of the California Healthline Daily Edition, a summary of health policy coverage from major news organizations. Sign up for an email subscription.
