L.A. County Supervisor Proposes $20M for Initiatives To Keep Individuals With Mental Illnesses Out of Jail
On Tuesday, Los Angeles County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas proposed allocating $20 million for programs aimed at diverting individuals with mental illnesses from being incarcerated. Ridley-Thomas noted that the county currently has about $3 million over the next two years set aside for such efforts.
