Legislature Sends Fracking Bill to Gov. Brown
On Wednesday, the state Senate voted 28-8 to approve a bill (SB 4) that would tighten rules for the drilling process called hydraulic fracturing, or fracking. The bill -- by Sen. Fran Pavley (D-Agoura Hills) -- would require state authorities to monitor and report on the public health and environmental effects of the drilling process. The measure now goes to Gov. Jerry Brown (D) for consideration.
