Trial began on Thursday for a Lake Elsinore man accused of shooting and killing his former urologist, whom he allegedly blamed for an unsuccessful medical procedure that he believed had ruined his life.Stanwood Fred Elkus, now 79, is facing possible life in prison without parole for allegedly shooting Dr. Ronald Gilbert, 52, as the doctor walked into an exam room at his Newport Beach medical office on Jan. 28, 2013.
