Medi-Cal
Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) signed into law AB 2950 by Assembly member Lynn Daucher (R-Brea). The law exempts health care providers from Medi-Cal reimbursement reductions for some programs if claims are filed more than six months after services are rendered. Under the law, the reductions would not apply to some Medi-Cal programs that do not receive matching state funds (Bill text, 8/11).
The Assembly voted to approve the Senate's amendments of AB 2379 by Assembly member Wilma Chan (D-Oakland), moving the bill to enrollment (Bill status, 8/21). The measure would extend until Sept. 1, 2012, a law that bars services covered under California Children's Services from being incorporated into a Medi-Cal managed care contract entered into after Aug. 1, 1994 (Bill text, 8/14).
