Medical Board Chief To Retire
Dave Thornton on Wednesday announced that he will retire as executive director of the Medical Board of California by mid-2007, the Los Angeles Times reports. Thornton has held the executive director position since 2004 and has worked for the medical board for 30 years.
The medical board will undertake a nationwide search to replace Thornton.
About 125,000 physicians in California are licensed by the board (Los Angeles Times, 12/28/06).
