Mexican Consulate in Fresno Set To Launch Health Care Referrals
On Monday, the Mexican consulate in Fresno and Family HealthCare Network announced plan to kick off a health care education and referral service for Mexican immigrants on Sept. 1, the Fresno Bee reports.
The program aims to help Mexican immigrant workers navigate the U.S. health care system, directing them to any of 57 clinics in the Central Valley.
According to Mexican consul Martha Elvia Rosas, the program aims to prevent unnecessary visits to hospital emergency departments.
The program, called Ventanillas de Salud, will focus on diabetes, asthma, high blood pressure and other chronic diseases (Colón, Fresno Bee, 8/11).
