Mont. House Advances Medicaid Expansion Bill; Senate Likely To Approve Plan

On Thursday, the Montana House voted 54-46 to advance a bill (SB 405) to expand Medicaid under the Affordable Care Act, setting the measure up for a final vote in the chamber. If passed, the bill -- which would use federal funding to expand Medicaid to about 70,000 residents with annual incomes of up to 138% of the federal poverty level -- would return to the Montana Senate, where it likely would be approved.
