NCQA: Redesigned Web Site Offers New and Improved Features
The National Committee for Quality Assurance recently launched an "extensively updated" version of its Web site, www.ncqa.org. Fueled by the increasing number of consumers who use the Internet to research health plans and providers, the site features the Health Plan Report Card that provides consumers with performance and quality information on health care plans nationwide. The new site's "Programs" page includes policy updates for health care professionals and a "What's New" section that archives information posted during the last 30 days. The enhanced site also provides access to NCQA's new eCommerce system, which will allow visitors to review and sign up for educational seminars online. Future enhancements to the site will include electronic delivery of publications, updates to the HPRC and a database of frequently asked questions. COO Esther Emard said, "The redesign of our site allows us to use the interactive technology of the Web to further our goal of improving health care" (7/17).
