New Veterans’ Web Site Contains Resources on Mental Health, Jobs
A new Web site will allow California veterans and service members to access information and resources about numerous services related to veterans issues, the Contra Costa Times reports.
The site allows users to search a database containing county-specific information on mental health programs, job training, sexual health and other issues. In addition, veterans can use the site to create personal health records, search a jobs database, check symptoms, participate in social networking and access a library of resources.
The site is available in 10 languages.
The initiative is part of a larger "Network of Care" program that aims to improve searches for health and human services.
California is the second state after Maryland to launch the program. Ten counties provided seed money for the site (Simerman, Contra Costa Times, 5/21).
