New Workers’ Compensation Rules Take Effect
New workers' compensation regulations that took effect Wednesday will require insurers to certify annually that their claims adjusters and medical bill reviewers have a minimum level of training or experience, the Sacramento Bee reports.
Insurance Commissioner John Garamendi (D) said the regulations are intended to help injured workers receive care faster and eliminate delays that increase costs to the system.
The regulations apply to insurers, self-insured employers and third-party administrators (McIntosh, Sacramento Bee, 2/23).
