New York Times Examines Link Between Economic Class, Health
The New York Times on Monday examined the link between economic class and health among U.S. residents. According to the Times, the "more education and income people have, the less likely they are to have and die of heart disease, strokes, diabetes and many types of cancer."
Less-educated, lower-income residents are more likely to have risk factors for chronic diseases than more-educated, higher-income residents and are less likely to receive the latest treatments or have health insurance, the Times reports (Scott, New York Times, 5/16).
