Northern California Hospice Widens Patient Base in Sale
Hospice by the Bay on July 1 acquired the North Bay operations of Vitas Innovative Hospice Care, according to officials, the San Francisco Business Times reports.
Hospice by the Bay has locations in Marin, San Francisco and Sonoma counties. The hospice service will provide care for about 30 terminally ill patients of Vitas, which is closing its North Bay location in Petaluma, according to Erin Henke, Hospice by the Bay's communications and community relations director.
With the acquisition, Hospice by the Bay now provides daily care for about 280 patients and their families.
Vitas is closing its North Bay operations after three years but will continue to offer services in Northern California through its offices in Newark, Walnut Creek and Sacramento (Rauber, San Francisco Business Times, 7/6).
