Unions Push for Federal Law on Nurse-to-Patient Ratios
Earlier this month, an alliance of nurses unions rallied in Washington, D.C., to push for new workplace regulations in hospitals. Bills by Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) and Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.) would set minimum nurse-to-patient ratios similar to those in effect in California since 2004.
