Opponents File Lawsuit Over a Berkeley November Ballot Measure Targeting Sugary Beverages
On Wednesday, opponents to a proposed one-cent-per-ounce tax on the distribution of sugary drinks in Berkeley filed a lawsuit in Alameda County Superior Court claiming that the measure's language is "false, misleading and illegally biased." The proposal is scheduled to appear on the November ballot as Measure D.
