PacifiCare to Offer Mail-Order Prescription Drug Discount Program for Secure Horizons Members
PacifiCare Health Systems announced plans yesterday to offer a new mail-order prescription drug discount program for members of the health plan's Medicare HMO, Secure Horizons, the Sacramento Bee reports. Under the program, Secure Horizons members could receive as much as a 30% discount on a three-month supply of mail-order medications. PacifiCare has not announced an annual limit on coverage or set a list of available medicines, the Bee reports. Secure Horizons members who participate in the program would pay out-of-pocket costs based on the price of prescription drugs they purchase and the amount of the discounts offered. PacifiCare will offer the program to Secure Horizons members in all areas served by the health plan and to former members who lost coverage when PacifiCare exited their area. In addition, Secure Horizons members who have only generic prescription drug coverage could use the program to purchase brand-name treatments (Rapaport, Sacramento Bee, 3/28).
